The Million Pound Necklace: Inside Boodles

Radio Times

From the people who brought us Inside Claridge’s, here’s another delightfully sparkling confection, a slab of wish fulfilment/escapism/possibly envy; diamonds and emeralds, lots and lots of them.

Boodles is the highest of high-end jewellers, a family-run firm with a flagship shop on Bond Street in London. That’s about all there is to it, really, as Inside Boodles is nothing more than a chance to paddle in someone else’s opulence. The Wainwright family who run the business are completely charming and youngster Jody is the gems expert. He buys some outrageously expensive emeralds and we see them being fashioned into a necklace. Call me shallow, but it’s hard not to sigh with joy.
