Remember that AI clip of a 3D pixel art fantasy game? Wish it wasn't AI? Well, one developer has taken it upon themselves to make exactly that with Project Shadowglass.

With some nostalgic pixel art graphics in a fully 3D world, it's got visuals we've never seen the like of.

And more than just an AI gimmick, it's a fully-fledged immersive sim too.

So, if you're wondering when Project Shadowglass could come out, as well as when we can expect the demo, here's what you need to know.

Project Shadowglass release date speculation

Project Shadowglass is currently scheduled to release into early access in 2027.

The game is currently only set to arrive on Steam for its early access launch, so be sure to pop it on your Steam wishlist to keep abreast of any updates on it.

Thankfully, developer Dominick John has confirmed that the game will be coming to consoles eventually, though we imagine that won't be until the game's eventual full release, whenever that may be.

Is there a Project Shadowglass demo?

A demo for Project Shadowglass is scheduled to release in 2026.

This was confirmed as part of a trailer shown at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase.

As for specifics, unfortunately we don't know just when it will release, so be sure to check back later to see if there are any updates!

What to expect from Project Shadowglass

In Project Shadowglass, you'll take control of a down-on-his-luck thief, stealing valuables from the rich.

It's an immersive sim, so you'll be required to gather intel and use specific tools and skills to successfully pull off your heists without a hitch.

It incorporates plenty of stealth elements befitting a medieval world, such as extinguishing torches, sneaking up on guards, walking across rooftops and staying silent to avoid detection.
