Episode 4: Fashion

Summary

Trendsetting fashion designer Violet Oliver is releasing her new collection, so Judith offers the Chateau as the backdrop for the spectacle. But an unexpected technical glitch plunges Violet into darkness, causing her to fall from the balcony in a near-fatal plunge. Violet insists she was pushed, so Jean arranges discussions with two potential suspects - Lucia and Noemie. Drama, starring Sally Lindsay, Sue Holderness and Lisa Faulkner

Review

David Brown

Anyone who can recall Lisa Faulkner’s all-too-brief stint on Spooks gets twitchy whenever she’s cast in a TV drama. And those fears are borne out as soon as Faulkner arrives on the scene here, playing designer Violet Oliver, who’s seen toppling from a high balcony after unveiling her latest designs at a catwalk show.

Fortunately, the fall isn’t as serious as Faulkner’s infamous encounter with a deep-fat fryer. But the fact that Violet has survived means she can now voice her suspicion that someone with a grudge pushed her from this precipice. Enter Jean (Sally Lindsay), who quickly finds at least two suspects who may have wanted to make Violet a fashion victim.
