Review
Jack Seale
In 19th-century London, advances are rapidly being made in the field of surgery but Cora (Claire Danes, sporting a perfect English accent) is relieved when they can’t save her abusive husband. Freed, she moves to Essex to investigate sightings of a mythical serpent, disavowed by the local vicar (Tom Hiddleston).
Science, faith and romance are as thick a brew as the enveloping marsh mist in this atmospheric period drama.
