Review

Stephen Kelly

Last week’s episode of the divisive Sex and the City sequel shocked long-suffering fans. This was because of Aidan’s (John Corbett) sudden confession to Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) that he had cheated on her with his ex-wife. Even more surprising was Carrie’s understanding. Their long-distance relationship continues — but there is a feeling in this episode that it’s on borrowed time.

Another plot thread dangling from last week is an emotional Charlotte (Kristin Davis) sharing the news of Harry’s (Evan Handler) cancer diagnosis with Carrie. The scene served as a welcome reminder of Parker’s linchpin talent. This somewhat ridiculous show just wouldn’t work without her.
