ITV’s new eight-part crime thriller Broadchurch, starring former Doctor Who actors David Tennant and Arthur Darvill and Peep Show’s Olivia Colman, is set to premiere on 4 March.
The dark drama centres on the aftermath of the death of an 11-year-old boy. When the yongster’s body is found on an idylic beach, the picturesque town of Broadchurch becomes the focus of a police investigation and a media frenzy, leaving the boy’s family struggling to deal with their loss in the limelight.
Tennant stars as DI Alec Hardy, the out-of-town dectective working alongside Colman’s DS Ellie Miller to try and solve the strange case. Arthur Darvill, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Vicky McClure, Pauline Quirke and Susan Brown also star.
Broadchurch is written and created by Chris Chibnall, who has worked on Law and Order and Doctor Who.
