Fortnite Karaoke explained: How does the new mode work?

Following the latest update to the game, there is a brand-new Fortnite Karaoke mode, which is playable in Festival.

If you ever thought the Fortnite Festival mode was lacking a vocalist, now is your time to step up to the mic and sing to your heart's content thanks to the addition of Mic Vocals!

To help celebrate the addition of karaoke in Fortnite, Festival season 14 has also added the modern jazz-stylings of Laufey, in-game now. In fact, according to the game's official website, the addition of Mic Vocals was "inspired by her incredible vocal abilities and captivating performance style."

What is Fortnite Karaoke? Mic Vocals explained

Fortnite Karaoke is a brand-new addition to Fortnite Festival that lets you sing along with any track, so long as you own a compatible microphone.

Officially called Mic Vocals, the new singing mode was added to the game on 16 April 2026. You can see the Mic Vocals in action below, courtesy of a YouTube video by uploader Rulas:

Pro Drums joined Mic Vocals in Fortnite Festival season 14, which also introduced modern jazz singer and artist Laufey into the game – her music and as an outfit.

To play Pro Drums, simply "plug in a Rock Band 4 or compatible MIDI drum kit", as per the official Fortnite website.

How to play Fortnite Karaoke

You can play Fortnite Karaoke by plugging in any microphone that works in the game on PC and console and then singing along to your favourite songs in Fortnite Festival.

After singing, you'll be graded on the accuracy of your phrases – Perfect, Great, Good, Okay and Messy. The closer your vocals match those of the song and their pitch (you'll see bars moving up and down along with the words to imply pitch), the higher your score will be.
