Summary

"Scrubs" is an American sitcom following the antics of employees at the fictional Sacred Heart teaching hospital. The show's main protagonist Dr JD Dorian (Zach Braff) and his best friend Turk (Donald Faison) begin the series as new interns. JD idolises his sarcastic mentor Dr Cox (John C McGinley) and ends up having a will-they-won't-they relationship with colleague Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke). Head nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes) acts as a mother figure to the interns and forms a relationship with Turk. Other characters include the hospital janitor (Neil Flynn), chief of medicine Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins) and the hospital's suicidal lawyer Ted (Sam Lloyd). Each episode features multiple story-lines linked by voice-overs completed by Braff. Created by Bill Lawrence ("Spin City", "Cougar Town"), the series premiered in 2001 and ran for nine seasons, clocking up 182 episodes. Reruns can be seen on E4.
