Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage confirmed for X-Men: Days of Future Past

The actor is rumoured to be playing a character named Puck, after director Bryan Singer broke the news

Peter Dinklage, best known as Tyrion Lannister in fantasy drama Game of Thrones, is to tackle another cult franchise with a role in upcoming X-Men movie sequel Days of Future Past.

Director Bryan Singer tweeted the news, saying “Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to#XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!”

There’s been no confirmation yet as to which character Dinklage will be playing but rumours (and common sense) suggest it will be Puck, aka Eugene Hudd, an agile dwarf superhero, skilled in hand-to-hand combat.

Puck is a member of Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight and a friend of X-Men’s Wolverine.

Dinklage will join an all-star cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry and Patrick Stewart for the movie which is due in cinemas in July 2014.
