"Not Going Out" is a British sitcom revolving around the antics of Lee (Lee Mack) and his friends. Lee is an unambitious bloke who drifts from one job to another. In the first series, he shares a flat with Kate (Megan Dodds), the ex-girlfriend of his uptight and sensible best friend Tim (Tim Vine). Lee and Kate think their life together as friends is ticking along nicely until romantic thoughts enter their heads. But before their relationship gets off the ground, Kate moves to America. Tim's sister, Lucy (Sally Bretton), ends up buying the flat and allows Lee to stay as her lodger. Hopeless cleaner Barbara (Miranda Hart) joins the mix and encourages Lee to pursue Lucy romantically. Tim's dim-witted new girlfriend Daisy (Katy Wix) pops up from time to time to offer her muddled words of wisdom. Hart did not return after series three and Vine left the show after completing work on the fifth series. Created and co-written by Mack, it premiered on BBC One in 2006.
