Summary

No flights, no phones - and one high-stakes, low-budget race to the finish. On a globe-spanning adventure of a lifetime, which pair will cross the line first?

Episode 9: The Reunion

Summary

Six months after finishing their race, the five teams reunite to reflect on their 14,000km adventure, which started at the Great Wall of China and took them through China, Nepal and India. They reminisce about being forced out of their comfort zones, traversing the two most populated countries on earth, and the landscapes they witnessed along the way. The programme also features behind-the-scenes insights and previously unseen footage

Review

Jane Rackham

It’s six months since the teams finished the race, having travelled 14,000km through three countries and dealt with frustrations, tiredness and sensory overload en route. Inevitably their experiences have affected them: brothers Brian and Melvyn got closer after finally talking frankly about their childhood, while teenagers Fin and Sioned learnt to love the world outside of Wales.

Viewers have bonded with them all, too, so this is a welcome chance to catch up with the adventurers as they reunite to reflect on the race challenges, while behind-the-scenes footage and unseen moments give us an intimate look at the realities of taking part in this hugely popular show.
