Jack Bauer must barely have caught his breath after fast-paced 12-episode series Live Another Day. But that doesn’t mean he can rest on his laurels.
No spoilers, but the ninth series, which comes to a close on Sky 1 tomorrow night, doesn’t have the happiest of endings – and series showrunners Evan Katz and Manny Coto are already talking about the possibility of bringing Jack back.
“All it really takes is a story that fires us up. That’s what got us excited about doing this season,” Coto told The Hollywood Reporter.
“I think what would draw us back if that were ever to happen – and that’s definitely up in the air – would be we or somebody presents an interesting take on Jack, on Jack’s character, and where he is, which would suggest a great season.”
While a tenth series is far from definitely in the works, it seems everyone behind the scenes is in agreement that it could be a possibility.
Executive producer Jon Cassar told TV Line: “We need to just get away for a month so we can all just catch our breath again and be human beings again, because you’re just in such a heightened state when you shoot the show. And then we can start talking about if there’s going to be another 24.”
24: Live Another Day, stars Kiefer Sutherland, Kim Raver and Mary Lynn Rajskub. 24 ran for 8 series between 2001 and 2010.
24: Live Another Day concludes tomorrow at 9:00pm on Sky 1.
