The latest Superman film Man of Steel has released new artwork, in which the film’s protagonist Clark Kent finds himself handcuffed…
In the unusual image the superhero appears to be in capitivity and is flanked by soldiers. The poster is also the first time we have seen a clear image of British actor Henry Cavill as the iconic DC Comics superhero Superman.
Directed by Zack Synder – who directed Dawn of the Dead and 300 – and also starring Amy Adams, Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner, Man of Steel is a retelling of the Superman story.
Rumour has it the film will venture away from Clark Kent’s life in Smallville and see the superhero travelling around the world. Even so – and in spite of Henry Cavill’s superman shunning the iconic red pants – the 3D film will no doubt provoke comparisons to Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of the superhero during the late seventies and early eighties.
Man of Steel will be in UK cinemas from 14 June 2013
