After urinating on a generator while drunk, Frank finds himself in hospital where tests reveal he has a life-threatening heart condition. He sets out to drink and drug himself into a stupor, only to receive a visit from his younger self. On his way back from university, Lip's other life makes an unwelcome appearance in Chatsworth, while Lillian finds an unconventional way to make some extra cash from her spare rooms. -

After a thoughtless and cruel comment from an ex-boyfriend (and business rival of Paddy's), Mimi is forced to face up to her darkest personal issue - years of seemingly irreversible weight gain. And while Paddy's failure to defend her honour creates a massive rift between the loving couple, his increasingly desperate attempts to make up for it threaten not only their relationship but their lives as well. Meanwhile, Carl is furious when Ian begins dating his teacher. -

Monica's convinced she's pregnant - and is devastated when the test is negative. She throws herself into making up for the lost years with her existing children, but when she causes Liam to set himself alight, the kids decide something needs to be done. Paddy's surprise birthday plans for Mimi are threatened when the Jockey is robbed, and Karen has just two days to put things right. Meanwhile, Stan's smitten when his Ukrainian pen pal comes to visit.

After knocking down an old lady, Stan confides to Tom and Carrie that he should be wearing glasses. To save Stan's job, Carrie takes the rap. But then the old lady decides to sue… -

A mishap with baby Katie and a bag of Es results in Frank leaving the house and sleeping rough. Liam also runs away after being put on nappy-changing duty. He catches up with Frank and the two outcasts bond round a campfire. Meanwhile, Mickey's attempts to get into his dad's good books backfire when he loses the weekly drug pick-up. And Shane's delighted when Kelly finally admits she loves him - but his dad is less impressed. -

A gas leak brings sexy fireman Sean to Ian and Mandy's attention, and the two are soon betting on who'll get to bed him. Ian wins, and gets more than he bargained for. Carl starts dating the dullest girl in the world just so he can sleep with her mum - but soon realises he's in too deep. Meanwhile, Frank steals a wheelchair and fakes an injury to get out of antenatal classes, and Lillian gets herself a boyfriend. -

Frank has some questions to ask himself after a brief encounter with a beautiful stranger. In search of a way to fund the family's first ever holiday, Debbie begins renting out rooms to American exchange students. But she doesn't bargain for an uptight, staunch Christian cheerleader - who soon has Carl, Shane and even Norma wrapped round her little finger. Meanwhile, Lillian's assigned to a witness protection programme but has great difficulty staying incognito. -

After 20 years' absence, Monica's mother Joan arrives on her doorstep - and all Monica's childhood insecurities come flooding back. But Joan's got Alzheimer's, and she has a very important task for her daughter - if only she can remember what it is… After confessing to Yvonne that he has a crush on her, Stan gets more than he bargained for. With Paddy and Mimi on holiday, Shane and Mickey decide to throw a party, but regret enlisting Liam's help. -

When Jamie's ex-cell mate Mark comes to stay, Karen must fight to keep him from leading Jamie back into a life of crime. Carl gets poor grades in his GCSEs, but with a little help from Paddy he finds his real talent - boxing. Yvonne gets a shock when she hears that her daughter Meena has arranged her own marriage. And Norma finds herself on a date. But is she over Monica yet? -

Paddy's facing 20 years inside on an armed robbery charge. The only person who can help him is his brother Noel, but the two aren't exactly the best of friends. When Frank inhales a box of Mimi's drugs, the Gallaghers find themselves three grand in debt, and Ian resorts to desperate measures to find the money. In the police house, Carrie exploits her promotion to sergeant - until Tom discovers a dark secret from her past. -

A family row puts Stan and Yvonne's relationship on the rocks. Things go from bad to worse when Yvonne finds herself held up at gunpoint in the shop. Stan comes to the rescue but the gun goes off, leaving him bleeding amongst the cut-price yoghurts. Meanwhile, Monica starts to panic when she discovers that the delivery date for her baby could be sooner than she thought, and Carl announces that he's going to join the army.

Mandy's persuaded to go on a blind date by Karen, Jamie and Ian. And it seems like she's struck gold - until an evening of sex and drugs turns into a nightmare. Karen and Mandy find themselves with a corpse on their hands, and must work out how to get rid of it before they're charged with murder. It's a long night for the girls as they drag a heavy wheelie bin around the estate… -

Mandy finds herself falling for Tom when she joins him in his search to find his real mother, but does he feel the same? Mimi realises she needs to do something about her temper when she lashes out at her favourite son, so she signs onto an anger management course. But is the world ready for Mimi the caring, sharing drug dealer? Meanwhile, Carl hopes sex counselling will equip him with some new techniques to impress his latest girlfriend. -
Episode 15/16
During their latest secret rendezvous, Debbie and Tom come to the aid of a woman who's been assaulted - but Tom is arrested on suspicion of being her attacker. A gruesome showdown between Shane and Paddy, over Shane's girl, leaves Mimi torn between her husband and her son. Norma wakes up in a stranger's jogging bottoms after a night on the tiles, and sets off on a desperate quest to find out who she's slept with. -
Episode 16/16
When Manchester experiences an earth tremor, Monica goes into labour and Frank falls off his barstool and into a coma. Monica refuses to have the baby without Frank present - but how long can she hold on? The comatose Frank finds himself in an alternative world, where he's successful, Ian's straight and it looks as though Debbie will never leave home. Meanwhile, Carl gets lucky with the ladies while posing as a single parent, and Shane has a proposal for Kelly.
