Bow ties are still cool - but so are waistcoats - as the Doctor (Matt Smith) rocks a refined new look alongside his rather coy companion Jenna-Louise Coleman in their first official photo together.

The two were on location, presumably preparing to shoot the Christmas special in which the as-yet-unnamed new sidekick (who may or may not be called Clara) will be introduced. 

"[Filming on the new series] is going well," Smith told the BBC's Doctor Who blog. "Jenna brings a really different energy to the show – one which I think is very interesting."
