Ahead of the penultimate episode, the You're Fired presenter assesses the chances of the last five Apprentice candidates.

"I've got a lot of admiration for anyone with the balls to go on The Apprentice. There may not be any outright nutcases this series who'll live on in the imagination, but that's not necessarily a bad thing - it means the quality of candidates is probably better than ever."

Lorraine Tighe

"She's difficult to love, though the other candidates are always surprisingly nice about her when they talk about her on You're Fired. She's a bit in-your-face and alienates people, so I don't think Alan Sugar will ultimately hire her. But Nick and Margaret are both keen on her. We'll see how much that matters. Sometimes Sir Alan can be a contrarian. But she raises the hackles. And, as I say, you don't tend to get people like that winning the series."

Kate Walsh

"Kate's had the odd blip but she's been the most consistent performer. She can present, strategise, sell and she gets things done. OK, she looked a bit of an idiot in the catering task but she was still on the winning team. Overall, I think she's done very well. Will her romance with Philip work against her? I think that's probably too strong a word for what went on between them - she wasn't mourning for him once he'd left, was she? And it only affected her performance for one show."

James McQuillan

"There aren't many people you come across where you genuinely don't know what they're going to say next. James is hilarious. He gets things done. I think he's got a pretty good chance, but we'll need to see how he performs in the interviews [airing on 3 June]. I certainly don't see him as the village idiot, as Sir Alan called him. But he's been in the firing line a few times and I doubt anyone who's spent that much time in the boardroom will go on to win."

Yasmina Siadatan - Chiles's Choice

"If I had to put money on someone, I'd go for Yasmina [NB: Chiles has no insider knowledge as to Sir Alan's final choice]. She's only been in the boardroom on one occasion. So even when she's been on the losing side, she's almost never been blamed for it. I think that says more than anything. She usually just gets on with things quietly, but she's shown she can be ruthless - she shafted Paula, didn't she? And she cut costs ruthlessly in the catering task, which went down well."

Debra Barr

"One of the production team told me Debra was her favourite Apprentice candidate ever. She's straightforward, competent, ruthless - and good television. But she's got a bit of a gob on her, hasn't she? You'd have to be a pretty brave man to want her to work for you. Look at the people Sir Alan has chosen over the past two years. Simon Ambrose was likeable. And so was last year's winner, Lee McQueen. By that measure, Debra is going to find it tough."

Hope you're right about Yasmina. Of the two remaining she has more scope for development.

Shoulda been Debra though - not just great television, a truly gifted if somewhat manic candidate.

Kate will win and SAS will make a reasonable ROI (hope that's not too techincal for Claude), but Debra woulda bet the company before lunch and pulled it off.

I hope that it is Kate who wins also. So far, she has kept very level headed and gets on well with people. I hope she does not become a cropper when being interviewed tonight. Agree Lorraine would not make a good first impression with Sir Alan's business associates if she was taken on. I cannot see Sir Alan choosing Debra or Yasmina, so for me I think it will come down to either James who is quite sweet or preferably Kate. Can't wait to see Margaret or Nick's faces if their preferred candidate does not win.

I think Kate will win, she is very good at not upseting Sir Alan and she has only made minor mistakes. Lorraine will not win because in business you are always meeting people for business and though it is harsh, first impressions count.
