A new Pokémon TCG expansion – Pitch Black – is on the way soon, and to help build a bit of excitement (as if we needed to), we can exclusively reveal three of the cards dropping as part of it.

This is just a small part of a huge year for Pokémon, as the series celebrates its 30th anniversary by way of new games like Pokopia, collaborations with the National Trust and Ikea, Generation 10 and of course, new TCG sets.

For some people, the last of those is by far the most important one, so without beating around the bush too much, we can kick off our trio of new cards right now.

Starting off strong in terms of vibes, and weak in terms of everything else, we've got a basic Slowpoke with 70HP, a 20-damage Headbutt and All-You-Can-Yeet, which allows you to discard however many cards from your hand as you'd like.

Now, while this is a card that's hardly going to blow anyone away on its own, you might be itching to find a place for it in your deck alongside the next two cards...

Upping the ante a bit, we've got – surprise, surprise – one of Slowpoke's evolved forms, Stage 1 Slowbro.

With 130HP, and a 110-damage Zen Headbutt, it's certainly a threat, but thanks to All Out, which deals 50 base damage but an extra 160 if you have no cards in your hand, you can make some clever use of Slowpoke's All-You-Can-Yeet.

But the piece de resistance of this trio is undoubtedly Mega Slowbro ex.

As expected of the tank that is Mega Slowbro, this card has a mammoth 330HP, and comes with the attack Shellnado Spin.

With 180 damage, it has the added bonus of placing 12 damage counters on the attacking Pokémon every time it's attacked in the turn after use, even if it's knocked out!

As with any TCG cards, these three have some wonderful art to show off, so special thanks are due to their respective artists Nelnal, CHORISO and the team from 5ban Graphics.

If you're a fan of the Slowpoke line, then you'll want to be ready for the launch of the Pitch Black set in July so you don't miss out to those greedy scalpers.

Plenty of retailers in the UK, US and beyond will be stocking it when it inevitably goes on sale, with favourites like the Pokémon Center and Magic Madhouse being your first port of call.

In the meantime, Pitch Black can jump on the list of Pokémon things to wait impatiently for alongside the likes of the Day Out/Night Out celebrations.
