GTA 6 Trailer 3 rumours explained: When could it happen?
Third time's the charm.

With each passing day, we're getting closer to the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date, which also just happens to mean that we're closer to when the GTA 6 trailer 3 will drop, and we've got all the rumours explained to see when it could happen.
Amusingly, we have a better grip on the GTA 6 release date than we do on trailer 3, despite Grand Theft Auto 6 getting delayed twice, something Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reckons was "worth it".
But such is the excitement surrounding GTA 6 that trailer 1 and trailer 2 racked up over 430 million views on YouTube, with trailer 2 hitting over 10 million in under two hours.
Despite both trailers only coming to a combined 257 seconds, they certainly kept us busy, as we examined every pixel for new details, such as old (yet new) faces returning, brand new characters and every last blade of grass and crack in the pavement in the GTA 6 map.
But, as for when we might see GTA 6 trailer 3 drop, read on!
GTA 6 trailer 3 rumours explained: When could it happen?

There are a couple of decently plausible rumours floating around that indicate when GTA trailer 3 could drop. The first is from Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, who maintains that the third trailer won't arrive until the tail end of summer.
During Insider Gaming Weekly, Henderson said, "I’m still sticking to my guns from what we said a few weeks ago, which is that I don’t think they’re going to release the trailer, the next trailer, until actual summer".
This would make sense, as GTA 6 won't come out until November, so there is little point in stoking the already runaway hype train by making more trailers than they have to.
However, if Rockstar were to release another trailer before then, we could see the developers do so around the time of the next Take-Two earnings call, which the company has been known to do in the past, with GTA 6 trailer 2 coming 10 days before the May 2025 earnings call.
As spotted on the GTA 6 subreddit, Take-Two recently announced that its next earnings call will take place on 22 May 2026, which is fairly close to "actual summer", as Henderson describes it, but realistically, we will probably see a steady cadence of trailers and media releases in the run-up to launch, be it a story trailer, launch trailer, or just snippets posted to socials.

When could GTA 6 Trailer 3 release?
If these rumours are to be believed, then GTA 6 trailer 3 could release early August or around 22 May when the next Take-Two earnings call takes place.
There is, of course, Summer Game Fest 2026, which will take place in June, though such is the draw of Grand Theft Auto 6 that it seems unlikely Rockstar would bother sharing an event with other developers and publishers.
As we have seen, when Rockstar delayed GTA 6, the rest of the industry course-corrected. For the foreseeable, we are going to be working on the Rockstar clock.
As for now, why not watch GTA 6 trailer 2 for the millionth time?
