Summary

The three semi-finalists need to put on their best performance as they head to Edinburgh to transform Festival Fringe venues - the iconic Monkey Barrel, Summerhall's Royal Dick and Home Bar. They need to dazzle Michelle Ogundehin and guest judge Shayne Brady with a revamped bar, stage and seating area for a place in the final

Review

Jane Rackham

Three Edinburgh venues are being made over this time in preparation for the annual Fringe festival: one is given a vintage circus vibe with a bold lipstick-red colour scheme; another aims for sophistication while honouring its veterinary college history and the third has an “intentional clutter” aesthetic that features strips of different vintage wallpaper. “Couldn’t you decide which one to use?” asks Alan Carr provocatively.

You can usually tell what Michelle Ogundehin thinks from the tone of the “hmmm” she always utters when she first walks in. Guest judge Shayne Brady is a lot harder to read. However, they’re both enthusiastic about one makeover so we know that designer is guaranteed a place in next week’s final.
