Summary
The designers head to Allianz Stadium Twickenham, the iconic home of England rugby, to renovate hospitality suites. They must create a premium experience for diehard rugby fans by producing a swanky bar for serving pre-match drinks and a stylish dining area for putting on a generous spread. Restaurateur Nisha Katona helps regular judge Michelle Ogundehin decide who will secure a place in the quarter-final
Review

Moved to a different day because of the VE Day 80 commemorative programmes (see page 19 for guide), this week’s edition sees the designers in Twickenham’s rugby stadium. Here, according to one of our novice designers, the hospitality suites look as welcoming as “a dentist’s waiting room”.
To transform them from corporate-bland into something super-smart but comfortable, the remaining five designers are inspired by cosy pub vibes, gentlemen’s clubs and the colours of the England rugby strip. But there are problems with bobbling wallpaper, the cutting of mirrored glass, upcycling of chairs and — as always — time management. It seems that one competitor is always just a little bit too ambitious.
Although Michelle Ogundehin and guest judge Nisha Katona are enthusiastic about most of them, they decide that one room didn’t combine the storytelling, premium quality and functionality that are an essential part of a good design. It’s something Alan Carr should remember next time he’s renovating an overseas property with Amanda Holden.
