Thriller

Summary

When a family under witness protection are murdered, DI Nyles Liz investigates.

Episode 3: Pressure

Summary

After a shooting at a safe house, witness protection officer Liz has many questions to answer, including why the officer she was having an affair with was also at the crime scene. Her secret investigation is threatened by pressure from higher-ups, but some disturbing truths lead her further into the conspiracy

Review

David Brown

Paul (Barry Ward) and Liz (Siobhan Finneran) are seen in flashback in bed together, duvets pulled up to the chin in a way few must do in real life, talking about the issue of trust and what he must do to earn hers. The fact that he was cheating on his wife to be with Liz in the first place can’t have instilled much faith.

But in the present day, Liz has very definite reasons to be thinking ill of her colleague and lover, as Paul appears to have breached witness protection protocols.

Not that he’s currently in any fit state to offer his side of the story, obviously. But might others in the team also be ethically murky? The plot thickens on Tuesday at 9.00pm.
