Summary
Patrick Brammall headlines a tense six-part thriller directed by Christian Schwochow, adapted by screenwriter Kris Mrksa from Ryan David Jahn's novel The Dispatcher. Ian Ridley (Brammall) is a former police detective who now works as a dispatcher. He is haunted by the disappearance of his young daughter, Maggie, 11 years ago and continues to believe she is alive. Ian receives a distress call from a teenage girl and becomes convinced that the person he is talking to is Maggie. Ignoring the warnings of colleagues and friends, Ian resolves to find Maggie and finally heal the wounds of his broken family

Patrick Brammall is on the up. Little known outside Australia before co-creating and starring Colin from Accounts, he was the love interest in The Devil Wears Prada 2 and is now back in Oz, leading a fine crime drama.
In a small coastal community, police call handler Ian Ridley (Brammall) has been a shadow of his real self since 11 years ago, when his three-year-old daughter went missing. When a tiny skeleton is found in woodland, Ridley spirals, until a call to the emergency line changes everything.
Handsomely filmed and confidently structured, Last Seen has a few skilfully drawn creations in its ensemble, but Brammall is the star, capturing both the resilience of a man who has had to learn not to be entirely defined by grief, and the terrible brittleness of a man who could so easily break. Maxine Peake is a nice surprise in the supporting cast.
