Summary

"Miranda" is a semi-autobiographical sitcom based on Miranda Hart's BBC Radio 2 comedy "Miranda Hart's Joke Shop". In the TV version, Miranda wants to make a success of her joke shop and try to develop a romantic relationship with her old university friend Gary (Tom Ellis), who works in the restaurant next door as a chef. The series tracks her attempts at living a normal life, finding love and pleasing her overbearing mother Penny (Patricia Hodge). The show has earned Hart numerous awards and nominations, including Best Scripted Comedy at the Royal Television Society Awards in March 2011. It premiered on BBC Two in 2009.
