Action thriller starring Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore. Disenchanted hitman Robert Rath wants to hang up his gun, but he is continually dogged by a young, rival contract killer who is determined to take Rath's place as the top assassin.
This film should carry a message warning you not to look too deeply for rhyme or reason or you'll end up with a nasty headache. Try to ignore the holes in the plot and concentrate instead on the rivalry that develops between hitmen Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas, especially when Stallone becomes enamoured of their target, hacker supreme Julianne Moore. Director Richard Donner gave us sharply played entertainment with the Lethal Weapon series, but here lets piles the implausibilities too high. Banderas gets away with a lazy performance, Stallone is a lot more interesting, but Moore has the best lines.
