"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" is an American sci-fi drama that blurs the lines between good and evil. In the previous two incarnations of "Star Trek", Starfleet was held up on a pedestal as an incorruptible peace-keeping armada - this is examined more closely in "Deep Space Nine". As the Alpha Quadrant is plunged into war, secret factions threaten to ruin the Federation's idyllic image. For the first time in the franchise's history, this show centres on a space station rather than a travelling ship. It stars Avery Brooks, Rene Auberjonois, Nicole de Boer, Colm Meaney, Michael Dorn and Terry Farrell. It premiered in 1993 and ran for seven seasons.
