Pokémon Chaos Rising: Release date, current card list, and what else to expect

The Pokémon TCG Chaos Rising expansion is set to be released soon.
Pokémon Mega Evolution – Chaos Rising, the next major English-language expansion in the Mega Evolution Series — contains over 120 cards, officially confirmed by The Pokémon Company!
You may even be able to try out the set in its pre-release format, thanks to the Build and Battle Box, which is releasing a little earlier than the full expansion.

When is the Pokémon TCG Chaos Rising release date?
Part of the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution set, Chaos Rising has a release date of 22 May 2026. The official Pokémon announcement confirms that the set is part of the Mega Evolution Series, with a card count of over 120.
While this is the official release date for the set itself, it has also been confirmed by TCG fansite PokeBeach that pre-releases will be taking place from 9 to 17 May, building hype for the full release.
The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the pre-release Chaos Rising Build and Battle Box will be available at "select Play! Pokémon Stores from 9 May 2026. Check out the Pokémon TCG event locator to find a store near you.

You can pre-order Chaos Rising sets from the likes of Walmart in the USA and Smyths Toys here in the UK right now.
Once stock goes live, the Pokémon Center will have the new expansion available to pre-order, alongside other major TCG retailers — like Magic Madhouse,
Remember to check other sites such as Amazon, Best Buy and Target, as well as dedicated TCG retailers like TCGPlayer.
What do we know about the Chaos Rising card list?
While the full Chaos Rising card list has not been officially published, The Pokémon Company has confirmed several details about the set.
According to the official announcement, Pokémon Mega Evolution – Chaos Rising will include over 120 cards, with more than 20 Trainer cards and over 35 cards with special illustrations of both Pokémon and Trainers.
That means there is already a decent amount to go on, even if the complete Chaos Rising Pokémon card list is still being held back for now.
Which cards have been revealed for Pokémon Mega Evolution – Chaos Rising?

So far, The Pokémon Company has specifically named Mega Greninja ex, Mega Pyroar ex, Mega Floette ex, and Mega Dragalge ex as part of Mega Evolution – Chaos Rising; an Espurr card with a move called 'Buddy Attack' has been included in the TCG expansion's early imagery as well.
Also confirmed are cards for Ampharos, Delphox, Crobat and Goodra, with the Punk Helmet Tool card and Grimsley's Move Supporter card also revealed.
Mega Greninja ex is the headline card mentioned in the announcement, but it is clearly not the only major pull in the expansion. Those early reveals already give us a better sense of the kind of set Pokémon Mega Evolution – Chaos Rising is shaping up to be: continuing the Perfect Order expansion's theme of featuring Pokémon that appeared in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game.
