Following the sales success of IO Interactives James Bond extravaganza, the Amazon Games Boss has teased a potential 007 First Light sequel, which given how well it has been received, seems like the most obvious thing to do on the planet.

We at Radio Times Gaming were rather taken by 007 First Light and its globetrotting story, with Gaming Editor Rob Leane calling it a "binge-worthy box-set of James Bond blockbusters" in his review, with no small thanks going to Patrick Gibson’s brilliant portrayal of a young Bond.

We weren’t the only ones to think so too, with co-star Lennie James saying that he is "sure" that Gibson is "under consideration" for a movie portrayal of Bond. Recently, Amazon MGM Studios teased a Bond casting, though we still don’t know who will be the next 007 with frontrunner Callum Turner recently waving away any interest in the role.

But, as for a 007 First Light sequel, Amazon’s Head of Gaming, Jeff Gattis, spoke with IGN, and whilst they did not directly confirm that such a project was in the works, he did say that "As long as we feel there's a desire for players to have the game, it’s safe to say it's going to be made."

When asked if the sales generated were enough of an indication that a sequel should get the go-ahead, Gattis responded with "Seems like a sequel should be made."

So, given that the person who is in charge of Amazon Game Studios, which has billions of dollars at its disposal, is of the opinion that they think a 007 First Light sequel should be made, we think it's safe to predict which way the wind will blow on this one.

The story of 007 First Light isn’t over yet, though, as we are still waiting on the Nintendo Switch 2 version being released, as well as the upcoming 007 First Light DLC, which will expand the plot further.

Much of what made the game great was the excellent performances given by the 007 First Light cast, and we can’t wait to see characters old and new return, be it in DLC or a 007 First Light sequel.

It’s not the first time a sequel has been floated, either, as developers IO Interactive already teased a sequel themselves, though this was pre-launch and before reviews had gone out.

Hopefully, it won’t be another seven years in the making!
