Frances Taylor

Here’s a comedy gentler than the tap of a ball on a putting green. Owen Wilson, not looking a day over 2005, is down-on-his-luck former pro golfer Pryce Cahill. A mid-game meltdown on live TV has put Pryce’s career in the bunker and, with his star having faded, he’s found himself in the midst of a divorce and on the cusp of losing what little he has left.

His fortunes might be about to change after a chance encounter with teenager Santi (Peter Dager). When he spots Santi’s big swings at the driving range, Pryce wants to take a big swing on him. His plan is to coach the youngster to win tournaments — and prize money. But can the reluctant prodigy be convinced it’s worth taking a shot on Pryce?
