However, with the promise of the return of Kate (Simone Ashley) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) this season, many fans are on tenterhooks to see whether the pair will be making an appearance in this new batch of episodes.

Seeing as their return was teased in the season 4 part 2 look-ahead trailer (which played automatically after you've finished the final fourth episode of season 4), how do they actually slot into the drama in these new episodes?

Their names were announced as part of the season 4 line-up, but do they actually appear and when? Read on to find out.

They do! Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley may have not been seen in the first batch of episodes of season 4 – but they do appear in part 2.

As we learn early on in the season from Mrs Wilson's (Geraldine Alexander) gossip, the pair had chosen to go to India to have their child, with the Bridgerton household staff brimming with excitement to meet the heir upon their return to the Ton.

However, we don't get that return to London in season 4 part 1 – but we do in part 2. Their return comes in episode 6, The Passing Winter, where we see them enjoying a moment in bed with their cute son, baby Edmund.

Kate and Edmund are set to spend the next few days catching up on rest after their journey from India, with Anthony going to London after he's been summoned by his mother. Kate's reunion with the rest of the Bridgerton family comes later on that very same episode, as she's catching up with them all over the most recent gossip.

Kate and Anthony continue to make appearances fleetingly throughout the season and are in attendance in the end credit scene with the rest of the family, as Anthony gives Benedict a final note of advice, having disapproved of his younger brother's decisions thus far.

While it was known from an early stage that Wicked star Bailey would be reprising his role as Anthony, Kate's return was a later reveal.

Speaking at Netflix's Season of Love event last year to Radio Times and other press, showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed: "We've got Anthony returning and I can reveal here for the first time today, we also have Simone Ashley returning.

"'Kanthony' will be together again and we will get to be seeing more of their marital bliss and seeing their baby as well. So, lots of fun."
