It's almost time for another trip to Amandaland as the hit BBC sitcom returns to our screens next month.

Lucy Punch reprises the title role of South Harlesden's gloriously pretentious single parent, who first won our hearts in Motherland, as she forges ahead with an exciting new chapter.

As teased in the recent season 2 trailer (see below), our enterprising Amanda will be continuing to develop her online lifestyle brand 'Senuous' (a self-coined term meaning "sumptuous luxury," in case you'd forgotten).

The marketing push begins with a talk at a 'careers week' event held by her son's school, where she'll be forcefully pushing back against the idea that her work is, in any way, "shallow".

From the hilarious teaser, there looks to be plenty more iconic Amanda moments in store – if you're as excited as we are, mark your calendars for Wednesday 6 May 2026, when the new season premieres at 9pm on BBC One.

All episodes will be available as a box set on BBC iPlayer from that date too, so you can watch at your leisure.

Amandaland season 2 sees the return of Philippa Dunne as long-suffering bestie Anne, Joanna Lumley as straight-talking mum Felicity and Samuel Anderson as potential love interest Mal.

In an interview with Radio Times last month, Dunne spoke to the immense pressure of bringing Amanda and Anne back to the screen after such a successful first run.

"Obviously there's a big responsibility... We didn't want to make a mess of it or ruin the reputation of [Motherland]." she explained. "But we're just really delighted, blown away [and] so happy that people not only like it, but love it.

"I'm really glad that the hard work has paid off and that people like it and have received it really well."

Addressing co-star Punch, Dunne added: "She's one of my favourite people I've ever worked with, ever. I loved her the minute I met her, I still love her now! I love Anne and Amanda. The joy of the job is getting to play characters like that side by side."

Amandaland's season 2 premiere is penned by Motherland co-creator Holly Walsh and Ghosts co-creator and star Laurence Rickard, who may be better known to comedy fans as Robin the Caveman.

Amandaland season 2 premieres in May. Stream season 1 on BBC iPlayer now.
