Few actors are more convincing as a menacing weirdo than Christoph Waltz, who makes a rare foray into television for a colourful black-comedy thriller that plays on the seamier, wilder elements of modern corporate America. Waltz, star of Inglourious Basterds and Spectre, is a management consultant brought in to shake up a company that makes gaming apps – his demands for remote workers to return to the office are soon eclipsed by the strong feeling that the employees’ lives might be in danger.
Based on Bentley Little’s novel, it’s scripted by British writer Tony Basgallop, whose previous American project was the barking Servant for Apple TV+.
