Summary

"Friends" is an American sitcom following the trials and tribulations of six friends living and working in Manhattan. It begins with Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) running away from her wedding and moving in with Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), her best friend from school; and Monica's brother, Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), bemoaning his luck after his lesbian ex-wife moves her things out of his apartment. They receive support and advice from their friends Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) and Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow). During the course of 10 seasons, viewers were captivated by Ross's unending pursuit of Rachel, Joey's womanising ways, Phoebe's perplexing behaviour and Monica's unlikely union with Chandler. The hugely popular series premiered in 1994 and ended in 2004 after clocking up 236 episodes. LeBlanc went on to star in spin-off series, "Joey".
