Tottenham Hotspur will look to tighten their grip on fourth place with a win away at Newcastle United in the Premier League's Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

Spurs moved above Aston Villa in the two-horse race for the final place in the Premier League top four last weekend.

A crazy nine-minute spell saw the Villa Park outfit throw away a win against Brentford on Saturday, and the North Londoners took advantage a day later by beating Nottingham Forest 3-1 to leapfrog them in the table.

Ange Postecoglou's side are only above them on goal difference but have a game in hand, and will see this weekend as a chance to tighten their grip on Champions League football in 2024/25 - given Villa face league leaders Arsenal on Sunday.

Winning at St James' Park is far from an easy task, however, as Newcastle have lost just once at home in 2024 - and have taken seven points from their last three games, including a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The Toon have plenty to play for in the final weeks of the season themselves, and are in the hunt for a Europa League spot – sitting just two points back from sixth-place Man Utd.
