It's always a treat when Doctor Who besties Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill reunite - but this week, it's for a very special reason.

Gill, who played companion Yasmin Khan in the beloved sci-fi, got married to her partner (who she has kept out of the spotlight), sharing some gorgeous photos and videos on Instagram.

Of course, eagle-eyed Doctor Who fans noticed that the Thirteen Doctor actor, Whittaker, can be seen dancing away with Gill in some of the videos.

Viewers have understandably loved the sweet snaps of the pair, with one writing on X (formerly Twitter): "Find someone who looks at you the way Jodie looks at Mandip."

Another said: "Congratulations on your marriage Mandip. Stunning as always! Jodie looks like she’s having a ball too. Bestie wedding!!!" while one more added: "Jodie at Mandip’s wedding oh my god :((((( best friends ever."

Gill shared news of her engagement earlier this year, revealing that her partner proposed to her with a Haribo ring. Posting a photo on Instagram at the time, she said: "Well ain’t that sweet."

Whittaker and Gill starred together in Doctor Who from 2017 to 2022, and both departed in the special The Power of the Doctor.

However, their adventures haven't ended there, as they've also been lending their voices to Big Finish's audio adventures.

Previously speaking to Radio Times about getting the chance to work with Whittaker again, Gill said: "You’ve gone back to characters you adore, you’re working with these amazing people and also having such a laugh.

"They don’t need a budget for location so these stories can go anywhere – and you don’t need to learn your lines. And I get to spend 72 hours in a room with one of my best friends! We further that relationship between the Doctor and Yas that I know a lot of people cared about and invested in. I know I did."

Speaking about the dynamic between the Doctor and Yaz, which turned romantic as their relationship evolved in the show, she added: "Their relationship, and the development of that relationship definitely continues," she explained to Radio Times.

"It's not heavy, it's not the forefront of all of their storylines which I quite like because that's not what it was on the TV show. It’s slow, and they're not quite sure what it is. And, like you saw when she was in the latest series, we don't know if it can head that way.

"So it's quite nice, because it is in there, and there are references to it, but it's not at the forefront. And I think what's happening, and rightly so, is that Yaz is trying to figure it out, because she didn't know herself that she was into the Doctor, and she didn't know what those feelings were. So she's trying to just understand it."
