Review

In an ideal world, Channel 4 would still have its much-missed royal satire The Windsors to call on at times like this. Instead, a cheeky comedy- musical takes aim with similar glee at the House of Windsor’s exiled prince.

Without the benefit of a preview, we can recommend this on the basis that its writer and star is rising talent Kieran Hodgson, the impressionist and viral comic who adroitly spoofs other TV shows online. He takes the lead role as we follow Andrew’s decline and fall from Falklands war heroics to becoming a palace pariah — with the help of showtunes and some nicely surreal casting. Will Hodgson be able to make the story funny? No sweat.
