We know that Dr Caitlin Todd's (Caroline Harker) time is running out in Emmerdale, as a flash-forward scene earlier this month revealed that one character would turn murderous very soon.

So, what's better than one whodunnit? Two whodunnits!
In today's episode, yet another resident was knocked unconscious and had blood spilling from their head. They're a vicious bunch in that village.
It all kicked off when Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) shared a brief kiss with ex-wife Dawn (Olivia Bromley), after they dealt with a troubling situation concerning her son Lucas (Noah Ryan Aspinall). This is despite his new relationship with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), and her engagement to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
The sound of Joe's arrival stopped them in their tracks, and they were convinced that he saw something happen.

He was already suspicious of their potential infidelity, after Gabby warned him that Dawn had shown an unusual interest in whether she was using contraception with Billy. It was clear to her that Dawn couldn't bear the thought of him being with anyone else.
Joe decided to play the long game and wait to see whether they would show signs of affection in front of him. He brought the whole family together for a meal at The Hide Bistro, and amid a tense atmosphere, asked Billy to be one of his groomsmen.

Former guardian Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) thought this was unusual, given he'd usually strike while the iron was hot.
In today's episode, Joe had discovered his uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash) was operating a dodgy car parts scheme from his depot. He demanded that Billy be removed for Dawn and their children's sake, but Caleb fired back by telling him about the kiss.

Gutted, Joe vowed to get revenge.
After being told that the operation was ending due to possible police involvement, Billy continued with his work at the depot. However, later that night, was uncontactable.
Dawn attempted to call him, and when she reached voicemail, we viewers spotted his lifeless body on the floor.
Will Billy be ok, and who attacked him?
