As new episodes of one Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, continue to be released weekly, we're now building up to the premiere of another, Dutton Ranch.

Dutton Ranch will pick up with Cole Hauser's Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly's Beth Dutton following the end of the original series, but now one new cast member has been confirmed as joining them.

Country music sensation Morgan Wade, whose latest album was released last year, has joined the cast of the series in a recurring role, making her acting debut.

Wade will be playing a bartender at the local watering hole in Rio Paloma, Texas, called Carol. It has been said that she "sees all".

Dutton Ranch will follow Beth and Rip as they "fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone".

As they do so, the synopsis for the series teases that they "collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire".

The synopsis continues: "In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul."

Also starring in the nine-episode first season will be Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, JR Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris and Annette Bening.

Marshals, which is the only other Yellowstone series that is currently ongoing, was recently renewed for a second season.

On the announcement of the renewal, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement: "Marshals delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV's most powerful new series.

"The overwhelming viewer response speaks to the strength of the Yellowstone world, the bold character driven storytelling from the creative team and the dynamic cast performances led by Luke Grimes."

Dutton Ranch will air from Friday 15 May on Paramount+.
