Review

Jack Seale

Jennifer Garner returns as Hannah, the hero of a thriller based on the novel by Laura Dave. Five years on from previous events, Hannah and stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice) are safe, but Bailey’s father Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is still in hiding, due to an agreement between the family and Bailey’s crime- boss grandad, who loves Bailey but wants Owen dead.

The first new episode suffers from the show’s regular malaise — too much portent, not enough action — but when it becomes clear that everyone is in peril, a promising new adventure begins.
