IMDB

Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

David Parkinson

While it's sad that Mel Brooks has hung up his megaphone, there's a certain sense of merciful release, as his last pictures veered from poor to downright awful. This Sherwood spoof has the occasional flash of vintage Brooks and wonderfully po-faced performances from Cary Elwes as Robin and Amy Yasbeck as Marian. On the down side are Roger Rees's ghastly Sheriff of Rottingham, the untidy structure and the fact that the bawdy gags are more notable for their antiquity than their quality.
