Jingle All the Way

Jingle All the Way

Brian Levant (1996)

PG Certificate

Our Score
In this family comedy, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the overworked businessman who promises to buy the year's hottest toy - Turbo Man - for his neglected son. Alas, the doll sold out months previously, thus sparking a frantic search that sees Arnie crossing swords with an obsessed postman (Sinbad) and a crooked Santa (James Belushi). Schwarzenegger acquits himself reasonably well in the slapstick action sequences - for once he is not indestructible - but he's a tad embarrassing during the cuddlier moments. Brian Levant's direction, meanwhile, could do with a harder edge.

A workaholic father tries to make up for his perpetual absence from home by promising to buy his son a hugely popular action figure for Christmas - little realising every other father in town has the same idea. Comedy, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sinbad, Jake Lloyd, Rita Wilson, Robert Conrad and Phil Hartman.
