A flash-forward episode that aired earlier this year revealed that Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) abuser would eventually meet a grisly demise – though which Emmerdale resident will have blood on their hands remains to be seen.
Next week, Todd threatens to expose the truth about baby Leyla, and Charity demands a confession concerning her assault. Little do they realise, an unwitting villager has wandered into the room, overheard everything, and will soon find themself at the epicentre of the drama.
Elsewhere, Billy and Dawn Fletcher (Jay Kontzle and Olivia Bromley) make a plot to escape the village and Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) clutches, and Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) seems to finally be on the right page with son Lewis (Bradley Riches).
Here's everything happening in the episodes airing between Monday 10 and Friday 14 August.
4 Emmerdale spoilers for next week
1. Charity Dingle confronts rapist Dr Caitlin Todd

Emma Atkins as Charity Dingle. ITV
Charity decides she's done living in fear and invites Dr Todd to Jacobs Fold to confront her once and for all. When an argument escalates, she orders her abuser to leave, but Todd refuses to back down.
She taunts Charity and threatens legal action.
As emotions boil over, Charity demands Todd admit the truth about what happened between them. But the surgeon hits back with a chilling threat to expose the secret surrounding Leyla's parentage to Sarah if she doesn't back off.
Pushed to breaking point, Charity brands Todd a rapist – unaware that someone has quietly arrived in time to overhear her explosive accusation.
2. Dawn and Billy Fletcher plot their escape

Olivia Bromley and Jay Kontzle as Dawn and Billy Fletcher. ITV
Billy stands firm over what he believes happened on the day he was attacked, insisting to Dawn that Joe was responsible – despite her struggle to believe he would have thrown away his only chance at happiness.
Although heartbroken, Dawn eventually accepts Billy's version of events and is left blaming herself, especially as she wrestles with the reality of carrying Joe's baby. Desperate for a fresh start, he suggests they leave the village together and reminds her she'd once dreamed of escaping.
As Dawn begins to weigh up whether such a plan could really work, Billy also prepares for another challenge as DS Byrne questions him about the attack.

William Ash as Caleb Miligan. ITV
Caleb Miligan (William Ash) is furious when Billy appears to let Joe off the hook by clearing him with the police, believing they've missed the perfect opportunity to bring him down. But Billy later reveals he's playing a dangerous game, explaining that he deliberately misled the police in the hope Joe will lower his guard while he and Dawn make their getaway.
With their escape plans gathering pace, Billy asks Caleb to help. Soon afterwards, Dawn invites Billy to move back into Home Farm and reveals she's already identified the ideal moment to disappear during Joe's stag do.
3. Kev and Lewis Barton bond – but a startling revelation could upend everything

Bradley Riches and Chris Coghill as Lewis and Kev Barton. ITV
Kev is delighted when Lewis agrees to spend more time with him, although he's painfully aware that there are still plenty of secrets between them.
Their plans take an unexpected turn when Lewis admits he never learned to ride a bike, prompting his dad to offer to teach him. However, away from prying eyes, Kev's confidence begins to falter as the prospect clearly stirs difficult emotions.
Later, Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) approaches Kev with a risky proposal, asking him to steal a delivery linked to Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) latest haulage contract. She's left disappointed when he refuses to get involved.

When Kev's cycling lesson with Lewis finally gets underway, it quickly descends into chaos after it's revealed he can't actually ride a bike himself. Following an embarrassing tumble, the pair end up sharing an unexpectedly heartfelt moment together, lying side by side on the field beside the cricket pavilion and enjoying the chance to bond.
But just as Kev begins to relax, Lewis leaves him stunned with a surprise revelation.
4. Dylan Penders is still deeply troubled

Amelia Flanagan as April Windsor and Fred Kettle as Dylan Penders.
Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) opens up to girlfriend April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) about how much he's been struggling recently, prompting her to gently encourage him to seek professional help.
It's clear that his earlier ordeal with groomer Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) is still weighing heavy, and Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) offers some heartfelt advice. He urges him to take the next step and contact a counsellor.
