The latest villain to walk the Coronation Street cobbles is Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield), the estranged father of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).

He'd been tracked down by granddaughters Hope (Isabella Flanagan) and Ruby (Billie Naylor) through a genealogy website, something which seriously concerned Ty's mum Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney).
She came face-to-face with Ross for the first time in over 40 years, and couldn't keep a long-buried secret quiet any longer. Cassie told her family that he is a paedophile, who paid her for sex when she was a teenager.
His new romance Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) was sickened, while Tyrone was conflicted with who to believe. Ross insisted that he had no idea of Cassie's age, and that he'd been peer-pressured into sleeping with her by his army mates.
Ultimately, Tyrone decided to remain in contact, and Ross dealt a troubling warning to Cassie, saying he'd kill her if she tried to ruin their relationship.

In retaliation, Cassie spiked a smoothie he was taking to work, in the hope that a drugs test would make him lose the position. Ross had spotted her running away from the scene of the crime, and decided to give the drink to Tracy instead.
When she was blue-lighted to hospital, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) found the empty pill packet in his girlfriend's pocket and kicked her out of the house.
Fearing she had nobody to turn to, Cassie decided to leave Weatherfield. Daughter-in-law Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) presented her with a family photo prior to her departure, and Cassie warned her not to trust Ross.
Later that day, while waiting of a lift to Piccadilly Station, Cassie was picked up by Ross instead. He drove her out of the area - never to be seen again - and upon his return to the street, eyed the photograph that he'd stolen from her.
It seems like we may never truly know what happened to Cassie.

In today's episode, with the warning still fresh in her mind, Fiz challenged Ross. She knew that he'd lied about the circumstances surrounding Cassie's departure, first saying that he didn't know where she'd gone before later saying he'd dropped her at Piccadilly.
Fiz assured him that she was keeping a close eye, and if he slipped up, she'd ensure he had nothing to do with Tyrone and their daughters.
Will Fiz get to the bottom of what happened?
