Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) is facing her biggest battle yet in Coronation Street.

Earlier this week, she exposed son Tyrone Dobb's (Alan Halsall) dad, Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield), as a paedophile who paid her for sex as a teenager.
The aftermath saw Cassie in tears, Ross's new romance Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) appalled, and Tyrone conflicted by his dad's claims that he thought she was older.
Ultimately, Ty decided to give his dad another chance – on the understanding that Cassie was OK with this. She grindingly accepted an apology for her son's sake, and later, the story took a far more sinister turn.
Ross pinned her against the wall and said that if she was to try and cause anymore upheaval, he'd kill her.

Desperate for revenge, Cassie spiked his smoothie with some medication – but upon fleeing from the scene of her crime, Ross spotted her through the window. He knew not to consume the drink, as a drugs test at his new job was imminent.
Instead, he handed it to Tracy. Her daughter Amy (Elle Mulvaney) found her unconscious on the sofa later that day, and she was blue-lighted to hospital.
In today's episode, Cassie's partner Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) returned to No. 1. He'd heard Tracy blame her for causing the incident, given last year she drugged pensioner Ken Barlow (William Roache) so that he'd remain reliant on his care.

Steve was intrigued to find a pill packet in Cassie's jacket, and although he didn't want to accept that she was in the wrong, it certainly seemed like Tracy was right.
An argument ensued between the couple, with Cassie insisting that she was innocent. Following intervention from Tyrone, who said he was sick of his mum's behaviour, the men slammed the door in her face.
Will this nightmare be what drives her out of Weatherfield?
