House of the Dragon season 3 star Benjamin Evan Ainsworth has offered up an intriguing hint about where Prince Daeron Targaryen's story is going.

Since his introduction into the story, Daeron has been closely watched and guided (or controlled) by Ormund Hightower (James Norton). But that could all be about to change.
Speaking exclusively to Radio Times, Ainsworth revealed that he's excited to see where Daeron goes in the future - including whether he's set to live up to his title of 'Daeron the Daring'.
"I think the pressures of Ormund and these other things that are happening in Tumbleton... are kind of making him question [his title]," he said.
"It's like imposter syndrome, a little bit. There are hints of that. But I also think when he is freed of a domineering presence over him, what does that look like for him? How does he grow? How does he flourish?
"That's where, I think, the character could become the storied, daring character he is. But I'm just really excited as an audience to see how that could grow and and develop next season as well."

So, could Daeron be about to escape Ormund's clutches?
Speaking more about the complex relationship between Daeron and Ormund, Ainsworth went on to explain: "I think their relationship is clearly very twisted, manipulative, and there's lots that Daeron is aware of, but almost can't help himself, but take part in.
"As much as he's wise beyond his years - in some ways he has to be calculated out of survival - he also is a 17-year-old boy who's not seen his mother for years, and and so there's this kind of longing for affection or love.
"It's a shame that Ormond is the figure who is the one giving him that because he he clearly knows how to kind of take advantage of that."
