The beloved satirical panel show sees two teams, led by regulars Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, compete by answering questions on the week's news.

They are then joined by a rotating guest host and two guest panellists who focus more on bringing satirical humour to the episodes rather than actually scoring points.

David Tennant will guest host the 10th episode of the current series, which not only marks the final episode of the season but also the former Doctor Who star's 10th time in the host's chair. His most recent appearance before now came in 2025.

His episode will air on Friday 5 June at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

The episode will see former Conservative MP Michael Gove appear on the show for the first time whilst comedian Chloe Petts completes the panels, her fourth time appearing on the programme.

This is the 71st season of the long-running panel show, which has been airing since 1990, first on BBC Two and then on BBC One since 2000.

Other hosts this season have included horticulturist Monty Don, presenter Gabby Logan, comedians Roy Wood Jr, Sue Perkins, Richard Ayoade, Alexander Armstrong and Katherine Ryan, and journalist and broadcaster Steph McGovern.

David Tennant rose to fame in 2005 when he became the 10th Doctor Who, a role he held for five years. He was deeply loved as the Doctor, namely for his relationship with his assistant Rose Tyler played by Billie Piper.

The Scottish actor is also known for his roles as DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch, Barty Crouch Jr in the Harry Potter franchise and as the demon Crowley in Amazon Prime's Good Omens.

It also won't be long before Tennant is spotted on-screen elsewhere, with the second series of Rivals premiering this Friday, 15 May.

Have I Got News For You continues on Friday 15 May on on BBC One and BBC iPlayer with repeats of the episodes also aired throughout the week.
