When the singles Country House (Blur) and Roll With It (Oasis) were released on the same day in 1995, the press whipped Britain into a frenzy. (It was the 90s, the economy was good, there was no news.) Fans bought armfuls of CDs (ah, memories) to try and push their favourite pale singers to the Top of the Pops.
