Based in Western Texas, Landman follows Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, as he seeks to get quick rich in the proverbial boomtowns by drilling oil. Kelly will join the cast playing William Crockett, the tycoon of the largest oil management firm in the world.
Michael Kelly is best known for playing the loyal and intense chief of staff, Doug Stamper, in the Netflix political drama House of Cards. He is also recognised for his roles as CIA Agent Mike November in Jack Ryan and as Byron Westfield in Lionness, season two of which is currently airing.
Alongside Thornton, and now Kelly, Landman also stars Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Sam Elliott, Mark Collie, James Jordan, Andy Garcia, Guy Burnet and Miriam Silverman.

Season two of Taylor Sheridan's hit oil drama ended on a cliff hanger after Cami (Demi Moore) fired Tommy for his aversion to her plans to drill for oil in the Gulf, and had completely aligned herself with the very wealthy and slightly shady Dan Morrell (Andy Garcia).
In terms of whether season three will pick up where season two leaves off, Billy Bob Thornton told The Hollywood Reporter: "Honestly, I don’t know. If I did, I would tell you. I really don’t know what’s going to happen. I think maybe the actual physical danger might come back a little bit more. It feels right to me that it would.
"But I can’t help but think that there’s going to be something that happens in the family that is maybe unsettling. I don’t know. These are all feelings I have because that’s all I have to go on."

Since its debut in 2024, Landman has been a hit show for the network with season two's premiere episode smashing Paramount's record for biggest season premiere in its history. It amassed a staggering 9.2 million views worldwide within its first few days of release, tripling its previous year's debut.
Paramount+ has not announced an official release window for the new season yet but following previous timelines it is speculated to be sometime in November, as season one debuted in November 2024 and season two followed suit in November 2025.
Landman seasons one and two are available to stream on Paramount+ now. Get a seven day free Paramount Plus trial at Amazon Prime Video.
