Has Netflix's Man on Fire been renewed for season 2?
The Netflix action thriller is poised for a second season – but will we see Creasy return to Mexico City?

*Warning: Contains major spoilers for Netflix's Man on Fire.*
First there was Scott Glenn, then Denzel Washington, and now Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, the latest leading man to take on the role of 'Creasy' in Netflix's take on Man on Fire.
The action thriller, based on AJ Quinnell's book series, follows Creasy to Rio de Janeiro for a security job, courtesy of his old colleague Rayburn, where he winds up being thrust back into another volatile situation.
Following Rayburn's death after the condo tower he lived in is blown up, Creasy vows to protect his friend's daughter Poe, the sole survivor who finds herself on a hit list after glimpsing the face of one of the men responsible.
And against the odds, he succeeds, while also exposing the president of Brazil, his head of security, and CIA field agent Tappan, the man Poe witnessed at the scene of the crime, who were behind the plot to destabilise Brazil for their own political gain.
But this is clearly just the beginning for Abdul-Mateen II's Creasy, with Mexico City on the cards.
Will we get a front row seat? Read on for everything we know so far about a potential Man on Fire season 2.
Has Netflix's Man on Fire been renewed for season 2?
Netflix has yet to announce whether you can expect more episodes, but the series is poised to return given where season 1 left off (more on that later).
When could a potential Man on Fire season 2 be released?
With no prior seasons to go on, your guess is as good as ours.
Best case scenario is early 2027, but there's every chance you could be waiting a lot longer.
Who could return for a potential Man on Fire season 2?

It goes without saying that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will return as John Creasy if season 2 gets the green light.
We also wouldn't be surprised to see Billie Boullet reprise the role of Poe Rayburn, while CIA director Moncrief (Paul Ben-Victor) is likely to feature in a limited capacity.
Valeria Melo's story reached its conclusion, so we wouldn't expect to see Alice Braga return. But she did survive the events of season 1, so it's not entirely out of the question.
The returning faces will also naturally be joined by a raft of new cast members for a shiny new story.
What could happen in a potential Man on Fire season 2?
At the end of this chapter, Moncrief contacts Creasy with a tantalising offer.
"I've got a situation developing that I'd like you to take a look at… no one else has had first-hand experience with these guys. You ran into them in Mexico City."
No persuading is needed.
"Send me what you've got," responds Creasy, who is ready to head back to the place where his entire crew was killed four years earlier – hoping to get justice and put his demons to rest.
But the specifics of that remain to be seen.
