In April 2025, the 51-year-old was charged with five offences – rape, oral rape, indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault – relating to four women between 1999 and 2005.

In December 2025, Brand was charged with two further offences – rape and sexual assault – relating to two more women in 2009.

Today (Thursday 5 November), he was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault, following a four-week trial at Southwark Crown Court.

He was acquitted of the other charges.

Brand pleaded not guilty to all charges and has consistently denied all allegations.

Speaking after the verdicts were delivered, judge Mr Justice Bennathan said the consequence of the verdicts is “a significant custodial term”.

Brand has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Monday.

Following his conviction, it has been revealed that Brand is under investigation for two more alleged rapes and could face more charges.

He went on to land film roles in the 2007 comedy St Trinian's, and had parts in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek and Rock of Ages.

Brand was previously accused of rape, sexual assault and abuse in a 2023 Channel 4 Dispatches documentary.
