It's time for Fortnite's yearly crossover with the Star Wars universe, and this year, fans of the series can check out exclusive footage from The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Following up on the hugely successful TV show, The Mandalorian, The Mandalorian and Grogu is a film sequel that releases later this month.

Across its three seasons, The Mandalorian followed bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), who ends up looking after the force-sensitive Grogu.

With the longtime collaboration between Fortnite and Star Wars, a number of new Islands will be added to the game, including new games modes like a Dead by Daylight-style mode where you escape Darth Vader, and even one where you build droids.

But for many, the highlight of this event will be The Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island.

On 19 May 2026 at 3pm BST (10am ET), players will be able to join the island, whereupon they can watch a special message from director Jon Favreau before being shown an exclusive 10-minute sneak peek from the film.

One week later, following the film's release, players will be able to head back to the Island to watch a Q&A with Favreau, where he will answer community questions about the making of the film.

As well as new Islands, the Star Wars event will be accompanied by all the usual hallmarks, including new and returning Star Wars Outfits rotating through the Fortnite Item Shop for the entire month of May.

LEGO Fortnite Odyssey will also be getting a Star Wars update on 14 May, with the Hover Brick, hover vehicles, Mando, Grogu and Star Wars enemies being introduced to the mode.

So, if you're a fan of Star Wars and Fortnite, that's plenty to keep you busy while you wait for The Mandalorian and Grogu to hit cinemas.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is coming to cinemas on Friday 22 May 2026.
